To update your CalCAP system to the most current version of the CalCAP:

 

If you’re using Windows:

 

1.   Download CalCAP7_Setup.EXE to a temporary subdirectory on your computer

2.   Open Windows Explorer to the temporary subdirectory. Click on CalCAP7_Setup.EXE to start the installation program. More detailed installation instructions are in the CalCAP manual -- "Chapter 2: Installation". The default location for the program is C:\CALCAP7. For additional instructions, click on QuickStart. 3.   IMPORTANT NOTE: This version of the CalCAP does not accurately display the characters ø and Ø in the task instructions.

 

 

If you're using a DOS-based computer:

  1. Download CALDOS.ZIP to a temporary subdirectory on your computer.
  2. Unzip the DOS version of the CalCAP program using PKZIP or a similar program (easily found by searching the internet if you don't already have a copy). Unzip the file either to the same temporary subdirectory or to a 3 1/2" floppy disk.
  3. Type "INSTALL" at the DOS prompt to install the program to your hard drive. More detailed installation instructions are in the CalCAP manual -- "Chapter 2: Installation".
  4. LAPTOP USERS: The CalCAP is incompatible with laptop computers that automatically adjust their clock speed, though you may be able to permanently set your clock speed through the laptop BIOS or SpeedSwitchXP Software (http://www.diefer.de/speedswitchxp/index.html).
